3. Herbal Consulting to
Individual Clients
The initial visit will review your medical
history, lifestyle, age, hobbies, allergies, current medications
(prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal), family medical
history, and so on in order to get to know you. All of this
information is confidential. We do NOT provide diagnostic tests
and are NOT legally allowed to prescribe or treat any medical
conditions. Consultations are for educational purposes, enabling
the client to make informed, sound decisions regarding his/her own
health. Recommendations are professional opinions, but each client
is responsible for making their own choices and must be willing to
be responsible for the consequences of the choices they make about
their own health and medical situations. Each client will be
required to sign a liability waiver, which states that it is
understood that the consultation is for educational purposes and
that the client, alone, is responsible for any consequences that
may ensue from the information or recommendations obtained there
within. Recommendations may consist of herbs, nutritional and
dietary changes, exercise and stress management, advice on
supplements, warnings about herb and drug interactions, even bits
of research on your problem from our medical library. Sometimes,
you may be referred to an allopathic doctor for orthodox therapy
if it seems appropriate, or another form of alternative therapy.
We recognize that each system of therapy has its limitations as
well as its benefits and encourage a complementary, integrative
medicine approach. We do not make outrageous claims or promises
and do not attempt to cure any serious, life-threatening or
incurable disease states.
If it’s maintenance of good health that you are inquiring about,
we will be taking the same case history from you that we would if
you were experiencing difficulties. Again, this is in order to
know you and your situation in order to best serve your interests.
After the initial information exchange, you will receive
suggestions that you can practically and affordably put to use.
Office and telephone consultations are available by appointment
only. Office consultations can be billed in 30-, 60- or 90-minute
