Anne Hutchinson Day - Picnic and gathering with the Friends of Anne Hutchinson
When: Sunday, July 25 at 1 pm
Where: Founder's Brook Park, Boyd's Lane, Portsmouth, RI.
Early colonial life of women on Aquidneck Island will be discussed as well as the Life of Anne M. Hutchinson (co-founder of Portsmouth). The outrageous life and times of Herodias Long Gardiner, friend and contemporary of Mary Dyer (1611-1660) will be presented. Medicinal, culinary, and dye herbs/plants of a colonial garden will be demonstrated by botanist, herbalist Michael Ford. Bring picnic, chair or blanket. Free and open to the public.
