Apollo Herbs’ Male Tone
contains a blend of nine herbs that were combined together to create
a formula that is both anti-inflammatory & stimulating to the male
reproductivesystem.
Saw Palmetto consists
of the dried or partially-dried fruits of a shrub palm with fan-shaped
leaves which grows in the southeastern U.S. It has anti-inflammatory,
diuretic, & anti-androgenic effects. The chemical composition is not
completely understood, however the activity seems to be related to its
sitosterol and fatty acid content. It is used for symptomatic treatment
of benign prostatic hyperplasia (swollen prostate) and has been shown to
inhibit testosterone-5-a-reductase
which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone.
Pygeum Bark contains
sitosterols & fatty acids similar to those found in saw palmetto and its
actions are similar, with anti-edema, diuretic actions, without
anti-androgenic or estrogenic effects. Studies have shown it to increase
bladder elasticity, stimulate prostatic secretion and reduce swelling of
the enlarged prostate.
American Ginseng Root
is an adaptogen that produces a
state of increased resistance to stress, incre- asing overall vitality
and strength. It contains triterpenoid glycosides called ginsenosides.
Stinging Nettle Root
contains polysaccharides, phenolics, sitosterols and their glycosides.
It has diuretic properties and has been shown to have a beneficial
effect on benign prostatic hyperplasia (swollen prostate) as well as for
inflammations of the urinary tract, due to its anti-inflammatory
polysaccharides.
Wild Yam Root
Wild yam root contains a mixture of several steroidal saponins, namely
diosgenin, which can serve as precursors for the in vitro
production of steroidal drugs.
Pumpkin Seeds contain a
fatty oil that is a strong diuretic, as well as cucurbitacins which seem
to inhibit testosterone-5-a-reductase.
They are also high in zinc, which has been shown to reduce swollen
prostate.
Ginkgo biloba is a
vasodilator that improves cerebral blood flow, and has anti-oxidant
properties, preventing formation of free radicals. Its active
constituents are flavonoids and ginkgolides. Clinical research has shown
Ginkgo biloba to prevent atherosclerosis & to allay Alzheimer’s disease.
Damiana Leaves Damiana
is a strengthening remedy for the nervous system, native to Mexico. It
is used for anxiety & sexually-related depression. In folklore, it is
said to induce visions & to be an aphrodisiac. |
