Apollo Herbs’ Menop-ease contains a blend of ten herbs that were combined together to create a stimulating tonic for the adrenal glands, acting to normalize hormone levels and ease menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness & depression.

Black Cohash Root has been shown to suppress hot flashes, provide a beneficial estrogenic effect on women and to relieve vaginal dryness, as well as treating nervous conditions associated with menopause.

Chaste Tree Berries (or Vitex Berries) inhibit the secretion of the peptide hormone prolactin by the pituitary gland. Lowering prolactin levels often restores the menstrual cycle to normal. It also enhances natural production of progesterone & luteinizing hormone, and inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone. Used for treatment of various gynecological disorders, including amenorrhea, fibroid cysts, endometriosis & PMS.

Dong Quai Root has traditionally been used as a uterine tonic & emmenogoue, for treating both menstrual and menopausal ailments. It contains several coumarin derivatives which have a blood-thinning property, which can increase menstrual blood flow. It should be avoided during pregnancy or when taking anti-coagulants.

American Ginseng Root is an adaptogen that produces a state of increased resistance to stress, increasing overall vitality and strength. It contains ginsenosides. Ginseng is traditionally used to suppress hot flashes.

Licorice Root contains glycyrrhizin, an estrogenic compound which has been shown to stimulate the adrenal cortex. Licorice is contraindicated for people with hypertension, congestive heart failure, or edema.

Sarsaparilla Root Sarsaparilla root contains a mixture of steroidal saponins derived from smilagenin and sarsapogenin, which can serve as precursors for the in vitro production of steroidal drugs.

Wild Yam Root Wild yam root contains a mixture of several steroidal saponins, namely diosgenin, which can serve as precursors for the in vitro production of steroidal drugs.

Dandelion Root contains inulin, a fructose polymer responsible for dandelion’s duretic action. Dandelion is also used traditionally as a liver tonic and is high in iron, potassium, calcium & boron.

Sage Leaves Sage has been shown, among other things, to reduce excessive perspiration (night sweats).

Motherwort Leaves Motherwort has traditionally been used as an emmenogogue, an herb that brings on normal menstruation, and thus has been used to treat amenorrhea, as well as its use as a cardiovascular tonic.
